Christmastime in Amsterdam. Always one of my favourite moments of the year. There is just something about the place that makes me think it is the perfect location to get into the Christmas spirt.
The weather is usually cold, but crisp with smatterings of snow. There are the markets, the patisseries and cafes with windows full of enticing goodies and smells. The general laid back vibe lends to the atmosphere of running down of the year.

But mostly I think its the lighting. Everywhere you turn there is wonderment. Whether trees lining the canals, the amazing annual Festival of Lights or the large open public spaces there are illuminations.
This weeks photo shows Dam Square and the Royal Palace during my recent trip along with two 360º panoramas taken from the square and the tram stop.
