My friend Glenn has recently returned from his own adventure down under and I’ve been editing his photos which has inspired this weeks Photo of the Week.
My second full day in Australia was spent on a road trip to the Pinnacles Desert, only couple of hundred KM round trip from Perth. A massive distance to an islander like me, but just a normal weekend drive over there.
One of our stops were to the wandering sand dunes to try our hands at sandboarding, the act of throwing yourself off the top of a perfectly good dune with a bit of plywood and hurtling down the huge climb that you’ve just trekked up.
All great fun.
Thanks to a blazing sun overhead and no vegetation to cause shadows it is hard to tell just how large these dunes can get.
